The Greens produced a much better performance in Turf Season Football Scouting Game 35.
Having lost the lead and eventually the match in Game 34 against the Blacks, much to the popular surprise, Team Green established a quick two-goal lead in Game 35.
Nelson Ajayi opened the scoring for Team Green, converting a penalty spot kick after the referee called in a defensive foul in Team Black’s penalty area.
Nelson and Frank Gabriel combined to find Ayoola, who scored the second goal of the game and celebrated with an acrobatic finish.
Lazy defending ensured Sanctus Agbo pulled one back for the Blacks but that was short-lived as Nelson Ajayi produced a magic moment, dribbling through the Black’s defence to set up Frank Gabriel to score and restore their two-goal advantage, taking the game score to 3-1.
However, lazy defending was the culprit again in the undoing of Team Green’s attacking efforts. Team Black’s counter-attacks were often met with the least resistance as Sanctus Agbo and Fatai Toheeb both scored to level the scores.
