Christopher Jiechei came off the bench to score Tigers’ first goal in the 2024 Lagos League. The Tigers were trailing by a goal at half-time in their opening game of the Lagos Divisional League 2024 Season game against Praise King FC. Christopher’s introduction at half-time made an instant impact as he found the net from a rebound shot.
His goal was however not enough to earn a point for the Tigers as the opposition restored their lead shortly after. Debut boy Chukwudi Isaac’s shot drew the Tigers level 2-2, but it was short-lived. The resilient Praise Kings took the lead again from a free kick at the edge of the box.
It was a dramatic end to the game as the Tigers won a penalty after Nduka Anthony was brought down inside the box. Midfield maestro, Joshua Ogonna, stepped up to take it but his effort a fraction wide off target with the keeper going the wrong way. Joshua’s effort was the last kick of the game, 2-3 full time score.
