Team Green showed great character to achieve the impossible, bouncing back from a 2-1 defeat in Game 26 to a 3-2 victory after trailing behind two goals early in Game 27.
Two goals from Joshua Mercy and Jatau Victor (season debut) established Team Blue’s dominance early in Game 27 and it looked game over for the boys in Green.
Against the run of play, Babatunde Abdullahi pulled one back for Team Green with a sublime low finish past the Blues Goalie, Ayomide O.J.
Abdullahi’s goal makes it two goals in two games for the pacy striker in good form.
It was more woes for the Blues as power striker, Emmanuel Orisan, added two goals for Team Green including a beautiful header from Ayobami Titilayo’s corner to take his tally to 4 goals in 3 games.
