TurfSeason suffered a 1 – 4 defeat against Dolphin FC on Matchday18 – a dry sunny afternoon at The University of Lagos Sports Complex, Akoka, Lagos. The visitors were one goal ahead by half-time and despite losing two players to injury in a midfield contest inside 10 minutes. A well-placed shot from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute was scored by Turfseason’s Damilare Agbaje, after Agonsi Benedict was fouled in the penalty area.
Team Manager, Paschal Agonsi in his post-match comments said that “it was really a great effort from the boys who were not dismayed by the physical quality of the opposition. Certainly, it is a great learning experience for the boys and you can see their quality showing in every department.”
Dolphin FC on Matchday18 fielded ‘Team Ikoyi’ who are famed to have never lost an exhibition game in their entire club history. The Team Manager, Coach Okonkwo, could not hide his admiration for the Turf Season side, and was impressed by the youthful nature, tactical play and positioning all through the 90 minutes. “They’re certainly a team to beat in the near future” he commented after the game.
